Well said. And aren't we all living "on the clock" regards our eventual demise. Sometimes it is a defined enemy, sometimes it is just the gradual accumulation of birthdays. Somebody asked me the other day why I didn't follow professional baseball any more. I said that nothing I had ever seen in a pro park could compare to my ten year old grandson, with an 0-2 count on a batter and the game on the line. I knew - but the batter did not - that the slight grin meant "Here comes the change up you didn't know I've been saving for this very moment...."
I am smiling through my tears. Your perspective is refreshing and right on. Curt and I love you.

Wonderful advice that we all need to follow before a cancer diagnosis. Prayers for a successful surgery and a full, speedy recovery! Hope to see you next year on campus at your 35th Reunion!
Use the fancy plates everyday. Wear your Hermes belt to Food Lion. Call the person where your behavior was less than and tell them you are sorry. Right now.

Having worked with thousands of cancer patients over the years you think I would not need to be reminded of your advice. But I did. Bless you and prayers for you.

My man. Great advice and even better telling. Sending you all our love.
From one East Tennesseean to another, good luck on your surgery!
Even though I’m a native of K-town I still haven’t been able to slog through McCarthy either so, good luck with that too!
Powerful reminder to value what’s important, and exquisitely well timed. Thank you for sharing, Brad. Best wishes for the days ahead.
May God watch over every moment of your journey.
